Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position that has risen at the Women’s University in Africa.
Reports to the Dean, Faculty of Social and Gender Transformative Sciences.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
- Oversee student selection, admission and registration processes in the Faculty;
- Maintain student records for the Faculty;
- Produce degree samples; course lists and teaching timetables within the Faculty;
- Monitor operation and application of Faculty degree regulations;
- Provide advice in the design of new degree structures and amendments to degree regulations and preparation of necessary documentation;
- Assist with the preparation of Faculty degree regulations and amendments for the publication as well as Undergraduate and Postgraduate examinations timetabling and organisation;
- Monitor students’ academic progress in the Faculty;
- Maintain and presentation of the Faculty’s academic statistical information;
- Assist with academic processes for graduation ceremonies;
- Attend to personnel/staffing matters of the Faculty in liaison with Human Resources and Administration Office;
- Participate in the recruiting of academic, technical and other staff for the Faculty and its departments, preparation of draft advertisements, processing of applications;
- Service Academic Appointment Boards, Selection Boards and development of induction programmes for new staff;
- Provide secretarial services to the Faculty Board and all the Faculty Committees and University Committees as may be assigned to him/her.
- Ensure that recommendations of the Faculty are duly submitted to the competent authorities and that University decisions and policies are observed within the Faculty;
- Deal with questions on any every University topic from members of the Faculty answering or pursuing those issues which he/she is competent to handle; directing the enquirer to the proper authority in other cases;
- Provide advice on the formation of policy briefing for the Dean, Deputy and other Faculty representatives for meetings of the Faculty and its committees and for meetings of higher councils of the control and supervision of Faculty staff and services such as duplication/ photocopying services, messenger, cleaning services;
- Such other matters as may be assigned to him/her by the Dean and the Registrar.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Qualifications
- MSc in any Social Sciences from a recognized university;
- Any Postgraduate qualification in Social Sciences;
- Knowledge of Exam Systems and Software;
- Experience in an academic institution;
- Ability to learn new things under minimum supervision; and
- A self-starter.

- Strong communication and organisational skills;
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; and
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and to pay attention to detail.
