- Post : Clinical Instructor
Duration : Full Time
Location : Harare Campus
Responsibilities
- Conducts lectures according timetable (6 courses);
- Conducts practical sessions or skills training in labs as and when necessary;
- Sets assignments and examinations regularly;
- Marks assignments and examinations periodically;
- Plans for practical supervision of students periodically;
- Supervises student research projects regularly;
- Attends to medical emergencies and assist on the University’s health related issues;
- Liaises with the University’s health facility – Belvedere Medical Centre occasionally; and
- Assists in the Ethics Review Committee.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
- Basic Nursing qualification (Registered General Nurse);
- Midwifery training;
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Science, Public Health, HIV Nursing, EMS from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- Master’s degree in Nursing Science, Public Health, HIV Nursing, EMS from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution;
- Should be well versed in the Heritage Based Education 5.0 doctrine; and
- Be a self- starter who can work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Post : Public Health Lecturer (Palliative Care, Nursing,
Emergency Medical Care)
Duration : Full Time
Location : Harare Campus
Responsibilities
- Teach a full load for a full-time lecturer in Public Health and Health Sciences;
- Coordinating academic activities for the Public Health and other Health Programmes;
- Plan and delivering teaching curriculum courses for undergraduate and post graduate students;
- Prepare course materials such as course outlines, homework assignments, and handouts;
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records;
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction and continually improve courses and learning experiences for students when necessary;
- Demonstrate and teach public health, patient care in the lecture room and in the community;
- Orient students to the public health and community health care discipline, and demonstrate proper procedures and public health processes;
- Supervise students' laboratory and clinical work;
- Ensure that all course design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the University, ZIMCHE, the department and the profession;
- Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities;
- Provide Community Service; and
- Perform any duties assigned by the Departmental Chairperson.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a Public Health or related health discipline from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or related health sciences discipline from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- PhD in Public Health or a health sciences related discipline from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution;
- Should be well versed in the Heritage based Education 5.0 doctrine; and
- A self- starter who can work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Post : Lecturer in Midwifery
Duration : Full Time
Location : Harare Campus
Responsibilities
- Lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
- Setting examination papers;
- Supervising research projects at undergraduate;
- Supervising dissertations at postgraduate level;
- Publishing papers in referred journals;
- Lecturer should be well knowledgeable in the Heritage based education 5.0 which include Research, Teaching, Community Service, Innovation an Industrialisation; and
- Performing any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Departmental Chairperson from time to time.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Midwifery or Nursing Science or closely related health discipline from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- A Master of Science in Midwifery from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- A PhD in Midwifery from a recognised institution of higher learning is an added advantage;
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution;
- Should be well versed in the Heritage Based Education 5.0 doctrine; and
- A self- starter who can work under pressure with minimum supervision.
