Dr Priscilla Mataure is a Senior Lecturer and Chairperson of the Department of Family and Health Sciences at the Women’s University in Africa. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences, a Masters Degree in Health Systems Management from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has over 20 years of experience in Clinical and Public Health Research and Programming; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; Programme Planning, Design and Management; Strategic Plan Development; Monitoring, Evaluation and Appraisal of Community Based and Institutional Programmes; Development of Training Materials and Implementation Guidelines, Gender Mainstreaming into Programmes, Policy development and Health Systems Strengthening.
Dr Mataure has provided consultancy services for various international and local organisations in the southern Africa region. She has skills in both Qualitative and Quantitative Research, Dr Mataure was trained as an International Scholar in Research at the Centre of AIDS Prevention Studies at the University of California in San Francisco in 2000-2002. She currently lectures in Research Methods among other courses and is currently a Peer Reviewer of two (2) International Journals of Health Sciences and is in the editorial board of one (1) journal, as well as an External Examiner in the Health Sciences at UNISA.
