Dr Priscilla Mataure is a Senior Lecturer and Chairperson of the Department of Family and Health Sciences at the Women’s University in Africa. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences, a Masters Degree in Health Systems Management from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has over 20 years of experience in Clinical and Public Health Research and Programming; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; Programme Planning, Design and Management; Strategic Plan Development; Monitoring, Evaluation and Appraisal of Community Based and Institutional Programmes; Development of Training Materials and Implementation Guidelines, Gender Mainstreaming into Programmes, Policy development and Health Systems Strengthening.

Dr Mataure has provided consultancy services for various international and local organisations in the southern Africa region. She has skills in both Qualitative and Quantitative Research, Dr Mataure was trained as an International Scholar in Research at the Centre of AIDS Prevention Studies at the University of California in San Francisco in 2000-2002. She currently lectures in Research Methods among other courses and is currently a Peer Reviewer of two (2) International Journals of Health Sciences and is in the editorial board of one (1) journal, as well as an External Examiner in the Health Sciences at UNISA.

Dr. Tonderai Irvine Tipere Kasu

Dr. Tonderai Irvine Tipere Kasu is a distinguished medical doctor, public health specialist, public administrator, and academic with extensive experience in healthcare leadership, health systems management, and public service. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe and subsequently pursued advanced studies at Africa University, where he earned a Master of Science in Public Sector Management and a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Public Health. His multidisciplinary background uniquely positions him at the intersection of clinical medicine, public health, governance, and policy development.

Over a career spanning several decades, Dr. Kasu has held numerous leadership and management positions within both the healthcare and local government sectors. He is the founder of Union Avenue Medical Clinic and previously served as Head of the Accident and Emergency Department at St. Anne’s Hospital. He also served for more than seven years as the substantive Director of Health and Environmental Services for Chitungwiza Municipality, where he provided strategic oversight of public health programmes, environmental health services, and municipal healthcare delivery. In addition, he assumed the responsibilities of Acting Town Clerk (Acting Chief Executive Officer) for Chitungwiza Municipality, demonstrating exceptional leadership in public administration and local governance.

Dr. Kasu is widely recognised for his contribution to public health emergency preparedness and response, particularly during major disease outbreaks, including cholera epidemics and the COVID-19 pandemic. A committed scholar and researcher, his academic interests encompass health policy and management, health systems strengthening, sustainable HIV treatment programmes, environmental health, and the impact of climate change on public health. He has authored and co-authored several scholarly publications in these fields, contributing valuable insights to health policy and practice. Currently, he serves as a Lecturer in Public Health at the Women’s University in Africa, where he is dedicated to teaching, research, mentorship, and the development of future public health professionals and leaders.

Mr Allen Muzenda is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the Women’s University in Africa (WUA). Mr Muzenda holds a Master of Commerce in Information Systems from Great Zimbabwe University and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Computer Science from Bindura University of Science Education. At WUA, Mr Muzenda lectures a range of Computer Science-related courses, including Computer Graphics, Systems Analysis and Design, C Programming, Operating System Concepts, Blockchain Technologies and Software Engineering. He has extensive experience in IT administration, curriculum development, teaching and research. He also prepares and delivers blended e-learning materials and develops academic programmes and learning resources. His research interests include e-learning systems, Information Systems, ICTs for sustainable development, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cybersecurity, networking, e-commerce, and the application of emerging technologies in education and society.

Jeremiah Musariwa is an Information Systems academic with extensive experience in tertiary education, ICT training and technical support. He has been a Lecturer at Women’s University in Africa since July 2018, where he has taught several in the Information Systems Department. He has also undertaken part-time lecturing at Africa University. His wider teaching experience includes Electronic Business, Management Information System, Operating System, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, web development and Artificial Intelligence. His professional ICT experience includes working as a Network Support professional at AfricaOnline Zimbabwe and later IwayAfrica Zimbabwe, where he provided technical network, internet and email-related challenges. Jeremiah combines academic knowledge with practical ICT experience, particularly in information systems, networking, software, databases and Internet technologies. His professional approach emphasises teamwork, structured task management and a commitment to excellence.

Mr Samuel Mugijima is a lecturer in the Information Systems department at the Women’s University in Africa. He holds a Master of Commerce Degree in Information Systems from Great Zimbabwe University, a Bachelor of Science Education Honours Degree in Computer Science from Bindura University of Science Education, and a Diploma in Education from the University of Zimbabwe.

Mr Mugijima has extensive experience in teaching, research, ICT integration, and research project supervision. His professional experience includes lecturing in Information Systems, Computer Science and Information Technology, facilitating teaching and learning, implementing e-learning platforms, conducting research consultancy, supervising student research projects, and supporting research and innovation activities.

He has also lectured on a part-time basis at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, Catholic University of Zimbabwe, Africa University and Bindura University of Science Education. His professional experience further includes serving as the Manicaland Provincial Coordinator for the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).

His research interests centre on the use of ICT in education, particularly the integration of ICT into modern teaching and learning pedagogies to enhance Education for Sustainable Development. He is also interested in issues affecting disadvantaged groups in education.

Mr Mugijima has participated in a number of research conferences and has presented research on ICT-based assessment, e-learning, ICT for sustainable development, GPS applications in the transport industry, HIV and AIDS awareness, and emerging technologies. His scholarly work includes research on female lecturers’ participation in civil engineering research and development, gender-specific factors influencing female pupils’ dropout rates, and HIV and AIDS spatial awareness and vulnerability among staff in a polytechnic environment. Mr Mugijima is a member of the Research Council of Zimbabwe and the Computer Society of Zimbabwe. He is experienced in the use of SPSS, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications and has a strong interest in applying ICT to research and education.

Mr Simbarashe Makonde

Mr. Simbarashe Makonde is an accomplished educator, emergency medical practitioner, nurse, and academic leader serving as the Chairperson and Lecturer in the Department of Family and Health Sciences at the Women’s University in Africa. He provides academic leadership in curriculum development, programme coordination, student mentorship, and the delivery of teaching and learning in Emergency Medical Care programmes. With over a decade of experience in healthcare, emergency medical services, and higher education, he is committed to advancing health sciences education and producing competent practitioners capable of responding to the evolving healthcare needs of Zimbabwe and beyond.

Mr. Makonde teaches in both the Diploma in Emergency Medical Care and Bachelor of Science Honours in Emergency Medical Care programmes and BSc Honours in Nursing Sciences,   He holds a Diploma in General Nursing from Hwange Colliery School of Nursing (2008), an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) qualification (2012), a Mine Rescue Certificate from the Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe/Mine Rescue Association (2014), and an Ambulance Technician Qualification from MARS (2018). He further obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Nursing from Africa University (2020) and a Master of Adult Education Degree from Midlands State University (2022). In 2023, he completed a Certificate Program in Nursing and Nutrition through the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing.

Mary Mupemhi’s academic’s career in Zimbabwe’s higher education sector traces a clear path from industry practitioner to university lecturer. Her journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems at the Women’s University in Africa (WUA), graduating in 2006. While pursuing this first degree, she gained practical experience as an Oracle Developer at the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC), where she honed her skills in database management and software development. After graduation, she continued building her professional portfolio, eventually joining the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) as a Software Engineer in 2010, a role she held until 2021. She then returned to her alma mater, the Women’s University in Africa, as a Systems Administrator for Information Systems, all while advancing her academic qualifications by completing a Master of Science in Information Systems Management at Midlands State University (MSU) in 2017.

In 2025, she transitioned to a full-time lecturing position at the Women’s University in Africa, where she is now affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology under the Department of Information Systems. This move marked a natural progression from her systems administration role, allowing her to leverage both her extensive industry experience and advanced academic credentials to shape the next generation of information systems professionals. Her appointment aligns with the university’s commitment to providing qualified lecturers who can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Her teaching portfolio reflects the comprehensive curriculum of a modern Information Systems program, encompassing Fundamentals of Computer Programming using C Programming, Optimisation Analytics, Data Management, Database Design and Installation, Business Data Analytics, Advanced Publication and Design, and Systems Analysis and Design. Through these courses, she guides students from foundational programming principles to sophisticated data analysis and system design, drawing on her rich background in Oracle development, software engineering, and systems administration to provide real-world context. Her career exemplifies a successful trajectory from hands-on technical roles to academic leadership, ultimately fulfilling the core responsibilities of a university lecturer dedicated to excellence in information systems education.

Ntando Sipho Sibanda is a Lecturer, ICT professional and PhD student specializing in Cyber Security and  Artificial Intelligence. She holds a Master’s in Information Systems and BSc degrees in Information Systems and Monitoring & Evaluation. She has extensive experience in software development, systems administration, database management, networking, and digital transformation. She is also a member of the AU AI-PSG Advisory Group contributing to conversations and initiatives around Artificial Intelligence and digital innovation in Africa. Her research interests include AI-driven cyber resilience, enterprise systems, cloud computing and technology-enhanced learning. She is passionate about innovation, practical ICT education and empowering students through emerging technologies.

Ms Chiratidzo Munemo

Ms. C. Munemo is a Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology at the Women’s University in Africa. She is an experienced nursing and health sciences educator with a strong academic and clinical background in nursing, oncology, palliative care, and clinical epidemiology.

She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the Women’s University in Africa, focusing on advancing knowledge and research in health sciences and healthcare delivery. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Zimbabwe, which has provided her with advanced expertise in research methodology, disease surveillance, evidence-based healthcare, and public health practice.

Ms. Munemo obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Nursing Education from Bindura University of Science Education, equipping her with specialized skills in teaching, curriculum development, educational leadership, and professional mentorship. She further enhanced her clinical expertise through a Diploma in Oncology and Palliative Care from the Parirenyatwa School of Nursing, where she developed competencies in the management of cancer patients and the provision of holistic palliative care services.

Her foundational nursing qualification is a Diploma in General Nursing obtained from Harare Central Hospital, which established her strong clinical and patient care skills. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in healthcare education, research, and service delivery.

Ms. Munemo’s professional interests include clinical epidemiology, nursing education, oncology nursing, palliative care, public health, health systems strengthening, and evidence-based practice. She is passionate about nurturing future healthcare professionals, promoting high-quality patient care, and contributing to the advancement of health sciences through teaching, research, and community engagement.

Ms Edith Sibiya Muzokura

Ms. Edith Sibiya Muzokura is an experienced nurse educator and healthcare professional with extensive expertise in nursing, maternal and child health, and midwifery. She serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences, where she is committed to the training, mentorship, and professional development of future healthcare practitioners. Her dedication to nursing education and excellence in patient care has enabled her to make meaningful contributions to both the academic and healthcare sectors.

Ms. Muzokura holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Science (Maternal and Child Health) from the University of Zimbabwe, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Sciences from the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU), and a Midwifery Qualification from the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe (NCZ). She is also a Registered General Nurse (RGN) accredited by the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe. Her academic and professional qualifications have equipped her with specialized knowledge in maternal, neonatal, child, and reproductive health, as well as broader nursing practice and healthcare delivery.

Throughout her career, Ms. Muzokura has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving health outcomes through quality nursing care, education, and community health initiatives. Her professional interests include maternal and child health, nursing education, women’s health, health promotion, and evidence-based nursing practice. As an educator, she is passionate about preparing competent, compassionate, and ethical healthcare professionals who can effectively respond to the health needs of individuals, families, and communities. Through her teaching, mentorship, and professional service, she continues to contribute to the advancement of nursing education and healthcare delivery in Zimbabwe

Ms. L. V. Mapepa is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Management, Department of Information Systems at the Women’s University in Africa where she has served the institution for close to five years across the various fields of teaching, learning and Innovation. Ms. Mapepa is a self-driven Academic with a passion for excellence precisely in the broad field of Tech and Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence. She is a holder of various qualifications in IT including a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in IT Systems support, BSc Honors Degree in Information Systems, concluding an MPhil in Data Science and Machine learning and currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. She also takes pride in providing excellent service to all stakeholders while making positive impact in people’s lives and in business especially women and girls.

As a way of giving back to the community she has taken part in various initiatives such as Career guidance expos in various schools as well other STEM initiatives.
