Reports to Deputy Director, Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
- Currently pursuing a Higher National Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field;
- Current transcript;
- Strong interest in infrastructure design and construction;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other architectural software;
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction standards;
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and documentation;
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills;
- Ability to work well in a team; and
- Pro-active.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
- Assist in conducting site inspections and surveys to assess infrastructure needs and conditions;
- Support the development of architectural designs and drawings for infrastructure projects;
- Aid in the preparation of construction documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates;
- Assist in coordinating with external consultants and contractors for project implementation;
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards;
- Assist in the supervision of construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines;
- Support the documentation and record-keeping of project progress and changes;
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices;
- Collaborate with the team and learn from experienced architects and engineers.
