Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position that has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa:

 ICT TRAINING AND SUPPORT OFFICER

Reporting to the ICT Administrator (Educational Technologies), the ICT Training and Support Officer strengthens the effective, inclusive and responsible use of technology across teaching, learning, research and administration. The post combines digital capability development, learning-design support, user assistance and evidence-informed improvement across conventional, blended, distance and online learning.

The incumbent will promote meaningful use of myHope and related platforms, support implementation of the WUA-BLOOM blended-learning model, improve the accessibility and quality of digital learning experiences, and build confidence in responsible artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Job Description

  1. Digital capability development: Assess training needs and deliver role-based workshops, webinars, clinics, induction and self-paced resources for staff and students.
  2. Learning design: Help lecturers create structured, engaging and accessible myHope courses aligned with learning outcomes, WUA-BLOOM and approved curricula.
  3. LMS adoption: Promote effective use of activity completion, conditional access, assessment, feedback, collaboration, multimedia and gradebook features among other LMS capabilities.
  4. Platform support: Provide functional support for myHope, virtual classrooms, multimedia, e-assessment and other Educational Technologies services; resolve or escalate logged requests promptly.
  5. Semester readiness: Support course setup, enrolment validation, content organisation, assessment configuration, user acceptance testing and adoption of system enhancements.
  6. Learning analytics: Monitor training reach, platform adoption, engagement, user satisfaction and recurring support needs, while observing privacy and ethical requirements.
  7. Quality improvement: Evaluate training and support interventions, contribute to digital course-quality reviews, and produce concise reports with actionable recommendations.
  8. Responsible AI and innovation: Build AI literacy and support approved pilots, covering verification, disclosure, bias, privacy, intellectual property, academic integrity and human oversight.
  9. Accessibility and inclusion: Promote accessible digital content, equitable participation, cybersecurity awareness, responsible online conduct and digital well-being.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field from a recognised institution of higher learning.
  2. At least one year of relevant post-qualification experience in educational technology, digital learning, ICT training, user support or a related environment.
  3. Demonstrable experience designing, delivering and evaluating digital-skills or technology-enabled learning programmes.
  4. Practical experience supporting a learning management system; Moodle experience will be a distinct advantage.
  5. Experience developing user documentation, tutorials, multimedia learning resources or online course content.
  6. Experience with service-desk practices, learning analytics, accessibility, quality assurance or AI-supported education will be an added advantage.
