Preamble
The Bachelor of Education Degree in Primary Education (In-Service) is a professional teacher education programme designed for practising primary school teachers who wish to upgrade their academic qualifications, professional knowledge and pedagogical competencies while continuing in employment. The programme provides an opportunity for in-service teachers to deepen their understanding of child development, curriculum studies, teaching methodologies, assessment, educational psychology, inclusive education and educational management.
The programme responds to the changing demands of primary education by equipping teachers with contemporary knowledge, practical teaching skills and innovative approaches needed to support effective learning among children. Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally meet the following requirements:
- A Diploma in Education (Primary Education) or an equivalent teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
- Applicants should be serving or practising primary school teachers or have relevant teaching experience.
- A relevant teaching qualification obtained from a recognised teacher education institution may be considered for admission.
- Applicants must satisfy the University’s requirements regarding previous qualifications and teaching experience.
- Applicants with other relevant qualifications may be considered in accordance with the University’s admissions and credit-transfer policies.
