ICT Network Technician
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position that has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa:
ICT NETWORK TECHNICIAN
The ICT Technician will report to the ICT Administrator, Infrastructure and will be required to support ICT infrastructure and users. The role will ensure that WUA leverages on ICT infrastructure to produce a highly performing and resilient operation. Furthermore, the post holder will ensure that the inherent benefits, resilience and performance of the IT infrastructure are maintained.
Job Description
- Provide computer systems support (Hardware and Software).
- Provide VOIP support.
- Carry out LAN installation, maintenance and monitoring.
- Update and maintain user ICT asset register.
- Repair computers, laptops, printers, servers and other related computer peripherals.
- Support ICT systems and related queries to staff and students.
- Setup, supervise and monitor ICT labs.
- Provide ICT related training for staff, students and stakeholders.
- Install and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
- Set up and maintain audio visual equipment in lecture rooms.
- Backup ICT systems.
- Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance for ICT equipment.
- Monitor Network services availability and quality of service.
- Produce ICT periodic reports.
- Troubleshoot and solve ICT issues.
- Liaise with service providers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or any related field from a recognised institution of higher learning.
- Professional qualifications are an added advantage.
- At least one year post qualification experience.
- Proven experience in:
- Printer/computer maintenance repairs;
- LAN installation and maintenance;
- User and ICT systems support;
