EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (ECD) TEACHER X 1 POST
ECD CENTRE
FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND GENDER TRANSFORMATIVE SCIENCES
Location : ECD Centre, Harare Campus
Period : Full – Time
The ECD Teacher will report to the ECD Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
Maintain a safe, clean nurturing and stimulating environment which promotes the holistic development of ECD children (social, emotional, cognitive, moral, creative and physical development).
Promote inclusivity and diversity in the ECD classroom.
Ability to interpret the Zimbabwean ECD Heritage Based Curricula and design developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
Design assessment tools, monitor and record learner performance as well as properly maintain other records e.g. accident, incident risk assessments, asset and attendance registers.
Collaborate with parents, internal and external partners to promote ECD Centre Programmes
Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, policies and safety procedures.
Assist with meal preparation, toilet training, giving first aid and hygiene routines.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the ECD Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor of Education (with specialization with Early Childhood Development) from a recognised institution of higher learning.
Two (2) years working experience in an ECD setting.
The candidate must possess the following attributes:
Passion for working with children.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of ECD Principles.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with classroom technology and childcare apps is a must
