Lecturer Information Systems
FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SCIENCES
Location: Harare Campus
Period: Full – Time
The candidate will report to the Departmental Chairperson.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
• Teaching – the candidate is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
• University Service and Community engagement – the candidate should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops and conferences and seminars as well as conduct community engagement activities.
• Research – the candidate is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
• Innovations – the candidate is expected to come up with innovations leading to tangible products and services.
• Industrialization – commercialization of products and services.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Information Technology/Software Engineering or equivalent from a reputable Institution.
• A first degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Information Technology/Software Engineering or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass from a reputable Institution.
• PhD in Computer Science/Information Systems/Information Technology/Software Engineering or equivalent from a reputable Institution is an added advantage.
• Proven minimum of two (2) years University teaching experience or two (2) years industrial experience in an ICT environment at a reputable organisation.
The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publication; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page numbers details, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
• The successful candidate would be expected to:
Teach at least six (6) of the following courses:
Data structure and Algorithms, Object Oriented Programming Languages (C, C++, C#, Java, Python etc., Web programming (ASP, JSP, PHP, node.js etc.)’ Visual Programming, Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Security, Managing Networks and Hardware, PC maintenance and Hardware, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Software Engineering, Advanced Database and Computer Security. The Department reserves the right to allocate courses for teaching
