Student Intern Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
STUDENT INTERN, MECHANICAL/ INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING – DEPARTMENT OF WORKS AND ESTATE DEVELOPMENTS
Location: Harare Campus x 1 post
Period: One Year Contract
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
• Assist in inspections and troubleshooting of mechanical systems;
• Support repair and maintenance activities for mechanical systems;
• Contribute to the implementation of the preventive maintenance programme;
• Aid in equipment procurement and installation;
• Assist in energy efficiency and sustainability projects;
• Help in preparing designs, specifications, and cost estimations;
• Assist in supervising artisans and ensuring optimal manpower utilization; and
• Collaborate with the team and learn from experienced engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
• Currently pursuing a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with a recognized institution;
• Current transcript;
• Competency in using design software such as Auto Cad;
• Interest in mechanical/electrical systems and maintenance;
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; and
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow.
