Main Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Registrar, the position serves as the University’s chief steward of the student lifecycle, ensuring that every student receives efficient, responsive and compliant services from recruitment, admission and orientation through registration, progression, examinations, graduation and alumni verification, while providing the data, systems, governance and leadership necessary for the achievement of the University’s Academic Excellence objectives.

The position is a four (4) year fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Overseeing admissions, registration and student records management.

· Supporting student recruitment initiatives, including on-site admissions, outreach activities and student conversion strategies.

· Ensuring efficient admissions systems and timely application processing.

· Collaborating with Marketing and Faculties to achieve enrolment targets.

· Managing the student journey from orientation to graduation.

· Promoting a student-centred service culture across Registry operations.

· Implementing initiatives that encourage registration, fee payment, student retention and progression.

· Supporting academic advisement and interventions for at risk students.

· Overseeing examinations for face to face, blended and online programmes.

· Ensuring the integrity, security and confidentiality of examinations and academic records.

· Managing certification, transcripts, graduation and degree audit processes.

· Serving as custodian of academic regulations, policies and procedures.

· Translating university statutes and Education 5.0 mandates into actionable administrative guidelines for faculties and departments

· Ensuring compliance with ZIMCHE and professional body requirements.

· Leading the collection, analysis and reporting of student and academic data to support institutional decision-making.

· Leading the digitalisation and automation of Academic Registry services and student information systems.

· Supporting academic administration for international and Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL) students.

· Managing alumni records and qualification verification services.

· Providing leadership and supervision of Academic Registry staff.

· Developing and managing the Academic Registry budget and operational plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

· A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognised university.

· An Honours Degree in Administration, Social Sciences or a related discipline from a recognised university.

· At least five (5) years’ relevant experience in a university or higher education environment, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.

· Demonstrated experience in academic administration, admissions, registration, examinations, student records management and regulatory compliance.

· Experience in student recruitment, enrolment management, online learning administration and student success initiatives will be an added advantage.
