Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position that has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS
• Teaching of the following modules; Waste Management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Land Reclamations and Land use planning.
• Conducting research, and developing innovations in the Department of Environmental Sciences;
• Participate in community engagements activities and contribute to towards the industrialization of communities, including rural areas;
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation relating to procurement activities;
• Coordinate and participate in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students; and
• Contribute to departmental administration, curriculum review, and academic programme development.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
• A PhD in Environmental Sciences or related field is an added advantage;
• Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field;
• Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Environmental Sciences, GIS, Geography, or Geoinformatics;
• A teaching qualification would be an added advantage; and
• At least two (2) years relevant teaching experience at tertiary level.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to motivate and guide students; and
• Effective organizational and planning skills.
