The University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic individuals to fill the following positions that have arisen in its Fashion and Design Centre at Harare:

MACHINIST X 4 POSTS

The Machinists will report to the Quality Controller.

Responsibilities/Key Tasks

· Joining panels to form garments using seams in a production line;

· Ensuring quality specifications are adhered to as per client request;

· Reporting fabrics or trims defects to immediate supervisor promptly;

· Time management and target focused;

· Following clothing industry rules and regulations according to SI 1 of 1999; and

· Performing any other duties as assigned by factory management and immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

· Clothing industry service card or reference;

· Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Clothing related fields is an added advantage; and

· Proven minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Machinist in a reputable firm in the clothing industry is a must.

The positions are being offered on six (6) months fixed-term performance-based contracts, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
