    The Women’s University in Africa (WUA), dedicated to addressing gender disparity and fostering equity in university education, invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Officer.

    The incumbent will report to the Director.

    Key Result Areas and Tasks
    MARKETING:
    • Perform market research to identify new businesses, segments, or groups of customers and channels that the University can develop sustainably.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, demographics, performance and other information that would impact the University’s marketing and business development strategies.
    • Assist in the formulation of the University’s Marketing Plan and Business Development Plan to achieve brand visibility, market share and profitability goals.
    • Formulate marketing content to promote the WUA Brand.
    • Project, manage and market events and evaluating their success.
    • Identify areas of improvement in product offerings, tactics, marketing strategy, promotional activities and overall strategy, propose and implement adjustments accordingly.
    • Assist in the development of new products and business opportunities for the University

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
    • Explore and identify connections and business opportunities that will support the University’s need to increase market share and profitability by building strategic partnerships in synergy with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Increase business prospects by establishing linkages to our products and improving business partnerships.
    • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs (profiling).
    • Build the University’s presence in the community and improve networking through its participation and involvement in external stakeholder’s initiatives.

    OVERALL:
    • Ensure all Marketing and Business Development activities are cost-effective
    • Ensure all databases are updated in terms of prospective customers, competitor analysis and other market research information.
    • Timely submission of reports.
    • Monitor and evaluate all marketing and business development activities and make appropriate recommendations that will increase brand visibility, market share and profitability.

    Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration from a recognised institution of higher learning,
    • Masters in the above disciplines from a recognised institution of higher learning would be an added advantage.
    • At least 3 years’ experience of working in an educational institution executing marketing and business development roles with a track record of good performance.
    • Possession of marketing certification(s) is an added advantage
    • Proven working experience in both marketing and digital marketing.
    • Knowledge of Graphic Designing and Digital Marketing is key.
