EXTERNAL VACANCY NOTICE: Senior Assistant Registrar – Examinations
The Women’s University in Africa (WUA), dedicated to addressing gender disparity and fostering equity in university education, invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Senior Assistant Registrar- Examinations.
The incumbent will report to the Deputy Registrar, Academic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Efficient management and administration of the entire University examination system;
· Monitor examination timetables and invigilation schedules;
· Monitor the printing of examination question papers;
· Monitor and oversee the conduct of all formal University examinations;
· Monitor and review the handling of examinations from Departmental level and offering guidance on relevant aspects of running examinations;
· Liaise with Departments on the security and submission of examination question papers;
· Prepare examination attendance registers and examination attendance slips;
· Liaise with Departments on the appointment of External Examiners and facilitate their accommodation, payments and travel arrangements;
· Administer examinations for international campuses;
· Compiling examination reports;
· Implement academic policies, rules and regulations on examinations;
· Monitor the processing and publication examination results ;
· Handle students queries;
· Check, verify and monitor the printing of certificates and transcripts;
· General planning and budgeting for all activities in the Examinations Unit including controlling and utilization of resources within the Unit;
· Supervise junior staff and oversee the day to day running of the Unit; and
· Service the Senate and all Examination Board meetings;
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Qualifications
· Master’s degree in a relevant area;
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area;
· Five (5) O’ Levels including English Language
Experience
· A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a university setup, working in the examinations department at the level of Administrative Assistant or above;
· Familiarity with examinations management systems;
· Experience and exposure to digital systems that include MS Excel.
