    Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions that have arisen in the Bursar’s Department at the Women’s University in Africa:

    ASSISTANT BURSAR RECEIVABLES X 1
    The incumbent will report to the Senior Assistant Bursar.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS

    1. Responsible for billing of all students fees;
    2. Preparing annual fees budget;
    3. Preparing debtors reconciliation;
    4. Maintenance of all academic fees general ledger accounts and preparing fees income analysis;
    5. Rasing of journals to update and effect corrections on students’ accounts;
    6. Processing refunds on overpaid student accounts who have done the clearance process;
    7. Maintenance of the customer data base;
    8. Attending to the Section email on daily basis;
    9. Issuing statements and fees invoices to students;
    10. Preparation of year-end audit schedules;
    11. Checking and updating student accounts;
    12. Attending to student queries through the counter and telephone calls;
    13. Clearing students for registration and transcript collection; and
    14. Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning;
    2. A Master of Commerce degree and/or any accounting qualification from a professional board such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe (CGAIZ) formerly the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Zimbabwe (ICSAZ), Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) [CA (Z)] etc. will be an added advantage;
    3. Registration as a Public Accountant in good standing with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) is an added advantage;
    4. Five (5) ‘O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics;
    5. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience at the level of Accounting Assistant/ Chief Accounts Clerk level in a university or similar environment;
    6. Solid understanding and application of IAS and IFRS;
    7. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Pastel, Navision, and advanced Microsoft Excel; and
    8. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, policy development, and risk management skills
