Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position that has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa, Fashion and Designs Centre:

PRESSOR

Purpose of the job:

To professionally press, finish, and otherwise prepare garments for sale or for customers to pick up. This includes the use of a combination of hand-pressing and steam-pressing techniques to ensure that garments are of the highest quality and ready to be worn.

RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS

• Inline pressing/ under pressing;
• End line pressing/ final pressing;
• Cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment used for pressing; and
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the Centre Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

• Minimum of five (5) years traceable experience in the clothing industry;
• Industry service card is a must;
• Possession of a certificate in Clothing and Textiles is an added advantage;
• Ability to work under minimum supervision; and
• Ability to work outside normal working hours.
