Mrs Lizzie Mazvita Chikerema is currently the Director, Internal Audit at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation. She also served as an Internal Audit Manager at the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC), Senior Auditor in the Auditor General’s Office and Auditor at the Zimbabwe National Army.
She holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance, Master of Commerce in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance, Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting, HND in Business Studies and an Intermediary Certificate in CIS.
She has extensive knowledge of and skills in business processes and systems, risk-based internal audit, enterprise risk management and governance, financial, operational audits and value for money, audit programmes, plans and internal audit charters. Related competences include strengthening organisations’ abilities to create, protect and sustain value by providing Boards and Management with independent risk-based objective assurance advice, insight and foresight, interpreting policies and ensuring compliance to governing statutes, ensuring that financial statements are prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and presenting audit reports to Board Audit Committee meetings.
Mrs Chikerema has served on the following Boards: Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe; Board of Trustees of the Anglican Church’s Diocese of Harare; Traditional Medicines Practitioners Council; and the Women’s University in Africa Council.

Engineer Fred Gweme is a professional Electronics and Computer Engineer. He has extensive experience in the design and development of new and innovative Information and Communication Technology products and systems. He holds a BSc (Eng) Hons degree and an MPhil degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe. He also acquired an Executive MBA degree from the East and Southern African Management Institute.
In 1997, Eng Gweme joined the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) where he has worked in various capacities, first as a Research Scientist in the Informatics and Electronics Institute. When the institute was split into two, the Informatics Institute and the Electronics and Communications Institute, he was subsequently elevated to become the inaugural Director of the newly formed Electronics and Communications Institute. He led a team of Electronic and Communication engineers and technicians that successfully designed, manufactured and commercialised a wide range of science laboratory and teaching equipment. In 2007, he joined SIRTECH, the commercial wing of SIRDC, as the General Manager of the Electronics production unit.
He was later appointed the Director of the Informatics Institute in January 2010 to lead a team of ICT specialists in the design and development of various software products. In February 2024, he was appointed the Director of ICT, a post he has held to date.
Eng Gweme is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe, a Fellow and former Board member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers, a Council member of the Women’s University in Africa and an advisory board member of the Emerald Hill School of the Deaf. He is also a member of the National e-Waste Management Task Team which has been mandated to spearhead the formulation of a National e-Waste Handling and Management Policy for Zimbabwe.
