Teaching Assistants x 5 - Kadoma, Marondera and Mutare Campuses

The Women’s University in Africa (WUA) is a private institution that was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004 (Statutory Instrument 130/2004). Its mandate is to address gender disparity and foster equity in university education.

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill five Teaching Assistant positions which has risen in the Faculty of Gender and Transformative Science at the Women’s University in Africa Kadoma, Marondera and Mutare Campuses:

 

TEACHING ASSISTANTS X FIVE – FACULTY OF GENDER AND TRANSFORMATIVE SCIENCES

 

LECTURERS RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • The Teaching Assistant shall be reporting to the Departmental Chairperson.
  • Attending course meetings and responding promptly to emails from the students as assigned.
  • Convening any teaching for any courses as assigned by the Chairperson.
  • Holding office hours and/or monitoring online discussion forum for courses assigned.
  • Conducting tutorials and any other supporting roles as assigned by Chairperson.
  • Marking assignments and tests.
  • Assisting in the administration of day to day academic affairs of the program.
  • Liaising with the main campus on academic issues as expected from the Chairperson.
  • Handling coursework marks.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION (KADOMA TEACHING ASSISTANTS – SOCIOLOGY X 1 AND PSYCHOLOGY X 1)

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

 

  • Be a holder of an outstanding honours degree in the relevant area.
  • Be enrolled for a relevant Masters degree.
  • Be approachable, helpful, and familiar with the course content and assignments.
  • A complete Masters degree is a distinct advantage.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION (MUTARE TEACHING ASSISTANT – SOCIAL WORK X 1)

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Be a holder of an outstanding honours degree in the relevant area.
  • Be enrolled for a relevant Masters degree.
  • Be approachable, helpful, and familiar with the course content and assignments.
  • A complete Masters degree is a distinct advantage.
