Mrs Jenneth Musiyiwa is the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes (In-Service and Pre-Service) as well as the Diploma in ECD at Women’s University in Africa (WUA). She has over 16 years of experience in Tertiary Education including working at Teachers Colleges and Universities. She also served the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for over 24 years as an Infant teacher. She has vast experience in ECD. For over 5 years she served as the Chairperson of Education and Development Studies Department at WUA. She also coordinated the inception and running of the Post Graduate Diploma in Child Sensitive Social Policies programme at WUA. She spearheaded the inception of the WUA ECD Centre for the enhancement of students’ observation skills.

Research Interests

She has strong skills in Qualitative Research and Materials Development. She developed and reviewed several modules for Zimbabwe Open University for the ECD Department. She worked with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in producing a reading module on Early Reading Initiative (ERI) which is currently used in the schools at ECD level. She also assisted in the production of a module on ECD Education for the same ministry. She was commissioned by the Public Service Commission to assess the establishment of ECD B schools in Zimbabwe which was sponsored by UNICEF. Mrs Musiyiwa has conducted several published and unpublished researches. She has authored many ECD Teachers’ Guides and learners’ books for Consultus Publishing Services, approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the books are in line with the updated curriculum. She attended various workshops mounted by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education as well as NGOs. She has also contributed towards the standardization of ECD programmes for ZIMCHE.
