INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR

The job requires a professional who will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the University’s ICT resources. The candidate should be a dynamic self-starter who is conversant with current ICT technologies as well as understanding business needs with demonstrable ability to deliver results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all ICT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, peripherals and website;
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems;
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology infrastructure in line with the University’s growth plans, and changing requirements or technological advancements;
  • Prepare strategic and operational plans for the ICT department to ensure that all necessary ICT tools, processes and systems are in place and contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term goals of the university;
  • Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, service level agreements, and policies related to ICT services;
  • Develop and manage the planning and budgeting for the University’s ICT services to ensure that resources are used to provide best in class ICT services that are in line with organizational growth;
  • Oversee all ICT projects;
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to ICT staff and to end-users;
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the quality and cost efficiency of the ICT Services;
  • Direct and supervise subordinates to ensure they fulfill their duties in the ICT function;
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services;
  • Serving in relevant university committees;
  • Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the University management from time to time.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Systems;
  • At least 8 years working experience in a similar environment;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Navision;
  • Fully subscribed member of a recognised Computer professional body;
  • Post graduate qualification in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Systems or related field is an added advantage.
