The Women’s University in Africa (WUA) is a private institution that was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004 (Statutory Instrument 130/2004). Its mandate is to address gender disparity and foster equity in university education.

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Female Cleaner/ Messenger at the Women’s University in Africa Bulawayo campus

Job Title:        Female Cleaner/ Messenger

 

Reports to:    Cleaner/Messenger Supervisor

 

Duties

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming of designated areas to the required standard;
  • Cleaning of lecture rooms, toilets and washrooms to the required standard;
  • Cleaning of working surfaces and other furniture as directed;
  • Clearing up after flooding and/or any other emergency cleaning;
  • Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies;
  • Setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as conferences and meetings;
  • Emptying bins and recyclables and transporting to disposal area;
  • Making tea for University staff;
  • Delivering internal and external mail;
  • Photocopying and duplicating documents for University staff members; and
  • Any other related tasks that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 4 ‘O’ level passes including English;
  • At least two years of experience in a recognisable company
